How to Use Your ScanMaster Pen

Follow these simple steps to get started with your ScanMaster Pen and make the most of its AI and scanning features.

Step 1: Unbox and Charge the Pen

  1. Unpack the Device: Remove your ScanMaster Pen from its packaging. Check for included accessories: USB charging cable, user manual, protective case, and screen protector.

  2. Charge the Pen: Connect the pen to a power source using the provided USB cable. Plug one end into the pen’s charging port and the other into a USB adapter or computer. Fully charge the pen (about 1–2 hours) to ensure uninterrupted use.

Step 2: Turn On the Pen

  • Press and hold the power button for a few seconds.

  • The pen will display a “Welcome” message when it is powering on.

Step 3: Connect to Wi-Fi (Optional)

  1. Go to the Settings menu on the pen’s HD screen.

  2. Select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password.

Note: The pen does not support 5G networks. Wi-Fi is required for features like online search and AI assistance, but offline translation for 60+ languages and scanning works without an internet connection.

Step 4: Scan Text

  1. Open the SmartAI App on the pen’s HD screen.

  2. Press the scan button at the bottom left to activate scanning mode.

  3. Hold the pen like a regular pen with the scanning tip facing down.

  4. Move the pen slowly across a line of text. The text will appear on the screen or be read aloud if text-to-speech is enabled.

Tip: Scan on a flat surface and move steadily for best results.

Optional: You can switch to keyboard or voice input by tapping the respective icons at the bottom of the screen.

Step 5: Use the AI Feature

  1. Scan a printed question using the method in Step 4. The AI will process the text and provide an answer on-screen or aloud.

  2. Use the voice recording feature to ask questions verbally. Press the voice record button, speak clearly, and the AI will respond.

Note: The pen comes with 2,500 AI credits. Additional credits can be purchased if needed.

Step 6: Record Voice Notes

  1. Press the voice recording button to start capturing audio.

  2. Stop the recording by pressing the button again. Playback recordings directly on the pen or transfer to a computer for storage.

Step 7: Use Additional Features

  • Text-to-Speech: Enable in settings to have scanned text read aloud.

  • Music Playback & File Storage: Access via the pen’s screen interface. The pen also features a built-in camera and Bluetooth functionality.

Step 8: Turn Off and Store the Pen

  1. Press and hold the power button to turn off the pen.

  2. Store it safely in a protective case to avoid damage to the scanning tip or screen.

Troubleshooting Tips

  • Pen Won’t Turn On: Ensure the pen is fully charged. If the issue persists, contact support at mytrendlane@gmail.com.

  • Scanning Issues: Ensure text is clear, the surface is flat, and the pen is moved steadily.

  • Wi-Fi Problems: Restart the pen and re-enter credentials. Using a mobile hotspot can help for online features.
